The heart of any relationship is more usually than not completely exciting.

It’s a time when your partner can do no base and all of the things that once hurt you seem to drift away because YOU ARE IN LOVE! And that’s all that means.

But as we know, ultimately life gets back to normal. You become more relaxed with each other (AKA you’re not afraid to ask them to pick up the wet cloth off the floor) and the everyday demands of money, passion and work can get in the way of your once bright and hopeful relationship.

But according to psychologist Jacqui Manning, there are a number of people we can learn from the couples who run to get through these difficult times.

“Life can force us all curveballs. People lose jobs, fight with pregnancy and face illness, but if you can learn why you are a team this is what continues you close through the tight times,” Manning told The Huffington Post Australia.

“Particularly when you have children, getting that you’re on each other’s side is amazingly important,” Manning said.
